How often is an ear check done?
We usually ask ourselves how often do we need to have our ears and hearing checked? Most people take this test lightly because they think this is not as important as that of an annual physical examination.
We usually ask ourselves how often do we need to have our ears and hearing checked? Most people take this test lightly because they think this is not as important as that of an annual physical examination. Thus, this adds greatly to the degree of the hearing loss if there is one.
There are many other situations that may prompt why we need to have a hearing test and the frequency of such test to be done. Such as, when you struggle to hear someone talking to you and you feel that you need to have them repeat what they say as you have a hard time hearing what they are saying or when you feel ashamed to meet new people just because you cannot clearly hear them to understand, then this is a situation that would prompt you to undergo a hearing test. Other situations maybe when you feel some ringing in your ears; or when people will notice that you talk so loudly even if they are just inches from you; or when you are at home and someone notices you that when you are watching television you turn the volume up to high levels for you to hear.
Though it may seem very apparent to have your ears checked when there is a problem, but how about when there is none? Will you have your ears and hearing tested or not? Hearing test is similar to that of an annual physical examination. Even if you do not feel that there is a problem in your ears, you still need to have your ears checked to get a baseline of the status of your ears and hearing so that when you get older, it will give the doctor a clear idea how much your hearing have changed over time. When we age, there are also changes in our body including our hearing and it is best to monitor the health of our ears so we will be alerted if any changes do occur.
